318 EAST 6 STREET

East Village

3h ago

This apartment was right in the heart of East Village but unfortunately it was right above in Indian restaurant so there was food dumped on the sidewalk in front of the entrance and it always wreaked of curry and garlic in the mornings. Our applicances were old and our oven broke one time and leaked carbon monoxide and the building didnt replace it until the fire department came and demanded it. There was also a mouse found in our bathroom. The worst part was the pipe that ran through the bedroom and clanked all night long. Lastly, the trash would pile up in the hallway for days and spill onto the floor, making the whole stairwell smell like trash. Wouldn't recommend this apartment building if you care about the above since they have raised the prices SO high but if you need a first NYC apt, this definitely gives you that experience.

110 NORTH 1 STREET

Williamsburg

Luxury building with a great rooftop, gym, sauna, spa pool, and beautiful lobby. Doormen are only here during the week but the building feels very safe, clean, and nice overall. The kitchen appliances are all brand new high tech, in-unit washer dryers, and nice finishes. Only negative is there's one woman living in the building who is incredibly mean and enforces strict rules within the building!

284 MOTT STREET

Amazing and responsive live in super, great location, laundry in lobby, solid building to live in if you're in your mid/early 20s. Lots of young people in the building. Good value for a flex apartment for 2 people. There is a locked package room but no doorman so sometimes random people would come inside the building. Other than that I loved living in 284 Mott and loved being in NoLita.
